Judge Ada Brown, 31, is the youngest judge in Dallas County.   She is the first minority and the first woman to preside over Dallas Criminal Court #1. She is a 1992 graduate of Carl Albert High School; 1996 magna cum laude graduate of Spelman College, Atlanta GA; and 1999 graduate of Emory University School of Law, Atlanta GA. Judge Brown was an Assistant District Attorney from 2000 until her judicial appointment.

 

Judge Brown is a member of Northway Christian Church, Alpha Xi Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and Mensa.

Judge Brown has been active in Republican politics since 2000, and she presently serves as the First Vice-President of the White Rock Republican Women’s Club. She is also the co-Chair of the Criminal Justice Committee of the Dallas Bar Association, and has been a featured speaker and writer for the Dallas Bar Association. Judge Brown has been endorsed as qualified by the Committee for a Qualified Judiciary,  and she was recently endorsed by the Dallas Association of Police Officers.

Since that time, Judge Brown has demonstrated her effectiveness and fairness as a judge. Judge Brown brings to the Bench the same meticulous preparation and strong worth ethic she demonstrated as an Assistant District Attorney.   She believes maturity is defined, not by age, but by how well one accepts responsibility.
